Accessibility
DomainEmpire Ltd · Last updated: 1 November 2026
The adaptation of DomainEmpire.com to the WCAG accessibility guidelines was started by HeptaCore Media, at the initiative of Emilio Marruso, as part of a wide-ranging inclusion project: the site is designed to be used by everyone, including people who are blind or have low vision and use a screen reader, a braille display, screen magnification or keyboard-only navigation.
Standard and status
This site conforms to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA, the standard referenced by the European standard EN 301 549. With the high-contrast switch on, text also meets the enhanced contrast requirement of level AAA (criterion 1.4.6); the site does not claim level AAA as a whole.
Last check: 1 November 2026. Method: automated tests on every page type, keyboard-only walkthroughs of every page type, checks at 320 px width, 200% zoom and increased text spacing.
What the site does
- Screen readers and braille displays: one main heading per page, headings in order, page regions (header, navigation, main content, footer), the language of each page and of every passage in another language, labelled form fields.
- Keyboard: a “Skip to content” link as the first stop, a visible focus indicator on every control, nothing hidden under the cookie banner or other fixed bars.
- High contrast: the “High contrast” switch at the top of every page shows light text on a black background with a contrast of at least 7:1, underlines every link and thickens borders and focus indicators. The choice is remembered on this device. If your system asks for more contrast, the site switches on its own.
- Your system settings are respected: reduced motion stops animations and automatic scrolling; forced colours (for example Windows high contrast themes) keep borders and focus visible.
- Zoom and reflow: the content reflows to a single column down to 320 px width, without horizontal scrolling.
- Images and icons: the site uses no photos that carry information; decorative elements, such as the logo badge, are hidden from screen readers, and every link and button has a text name.
- Forms: every field has a visible label; errors are announced and explained in text, not only by colour.
- Links open in the same window.
Known limitations
- Some domains are sold through an external marketplace: its purchase pages are not run by us and we cannot guarantee their accessibility. If you meet a barrier there, tell us through the contact form and we will look for another way to complete the purchase with you.
