Terms and Conditions
DomainEmpire.com Ltd, registered in London (71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, WC2H 9JQ, UK), manages the sale and transfer of premium domain names through two distinct models: direct sale and lease-to-own. This document sets out the terms applicable to both models and defines the responsibilities of all parties involved.
1. Acquisition models
Direct sale: one-time purchase at the price listed on the domain page. Accepted payment methods: Escrow.com, EscrowDomains.com, Sedo, GoDaddy, Crypto, Wire transfer (ACH/SEPA/SWIFT), Wise.com, PayPal and Neteller. All transaction fees are covered by the seller.
Lease-to-own: interest-free instalment plan from 2 to 60 months, available exclusively through Escrow.com and EscrowDomains.com. During the lease period the domain is held in escrow custody to protect both parties, until full payment is completed and ownership is definitively transferred.
2. Transaction process
- Opening of the escrow transaction — generally by the seller.
- Registration of both parties on the escrow platform.
- Payment by the buyer to the escrow — clearing times: 24 hours to 2-3 business days.
- Payment confirmation by the escrow to the seller.
- Domain release and authcode delivery within 24 hours of confirmation.
- Domain transfer to the buyer's registrar.
- Buyer confirms receipt and funds are released to the seller.
Alternatively, via Sedo and GoDaddy with similar process, typically 2-4 business days. In all cases the buyer is protected by regulated intermediaries.
3. Refund policy
There is no standard refund policy in the domain market: this is an industry-wide norm that applies to all operators. In specific cases, agreed in writing before the transaction is opened, it may be possible to evaluate the repurchase of specific domains under these conditions:
- The agreement must be formalised before the transaction begins. It cannot be requested or discussed after completion.
- Each evaluation is strictly individual and does not constitute a general rule.
- The domain's reputational status (domain score) and the absence of improper use — including spam or registrar policy violations — are determining factors.
- There is no right of repurchase: each case is evaluated at the seller's discretion.
4. Seller's responsibilities
DomainEmpire.com undertakes to: release the domain and provide the authcode within 24 hours of escrow confirmation; provide technical support for a successful transfer; indicate, upon request, the recommended configuration.
The seller's liability is limited to the correct execution of the transfer within the agreed timeframe. Once the domain is in the buyer's full ownership, DomainEmpire.com accepts no liability for subsequent events: domain use, registrar configuration, legal and tax matters, or events caused by third parties or external factors.
5. Buyer's responsibilities
The buyer is responsible for: verifying the domain's suitability; assessing their own legal and tax position; choosing a reliable registrar; completing the transfer promptly once the authcode is received. DomainEmpire.com may provide operational guidance, but legal, tax and technical verification remains the buyer's sole responsibility.
6. Invoicing and jurisdiction
Not all domains are directly registered to DomainEmpire.com Ltd. Some may be held by affiliated companies within the HeptaCore group. Invoicing details will always be communicated transparently at the opening of the transaction. For all matters not covered by this document, reference is made to the policies of the chosen intermediaries (Escrow.com, EscrowDomains.com, Sedo, GoDaddy).
